My life as a mommy :)

7 and 8 Months! :)

Konnor, you turned 8 months old on Christmas Eve but mommy is bad at blogging and skipped two whole monthly post.

You have learned and changed so much in the past two months. It's so unbelievable! You also had many firsts and got to experience many new things! I just wanna say how amazing of a baby that you are and I'm so lucky to be your mommy!

Development
Oh boy, where do I begin on what all you have learned and achieved ? You can officially crawl now! And oh goodness, you crawl fast! Anything you see that you want, you are determined to get it right then! You started off by rocking back and forth then one day you just seemed to get it! You can also pull up on anything and stand there. You have ventured to holding on with one hand which has caused many boo-boos already and many tears from mommy! You are walking across the couch but are to scared to let go or to use your walking toy. I know one day you'll just let go and run for it just like with crawling.

nutrition
You have changed a good bit in this department too and took mommy for a whirlwind. You are an eater and that's never changed but what you want to eat is the problem. You take 6oz of Similac Sensitive every 2-2 1/2 hours. You were taking baby food 3 times a day and a snack in between when you decided that baby food was just gross and you wanted table food. I struggled with this because me and daddy don't really eat that healthy and we tried to bump it up for you. I started making you whole grain muffins in the morning for breakfast. Veggies like carrots, peas, green beans or potatoes for lunch and then supper we add meat, veggies and a banana. Thankfully, yesterday you let me feed you some baby food and that makes mommy feel better because then I know you are eating right.

sleep
This one kinda feels like a joke. If there was a club for sleep haters, I'm more than positive you would be the president. You wake up for the day around 6-6:30 am as my extremely happy baby. I love those morning goggles from you :) you take your first nap around 11 am and sleep till about 1 pm. Then another nap around 4pm till about 4:30-5. Then bedtime comes about 8:30 now. You hate to be rocked so we just lay you down beside us and let you play yourself to sleep in the bed. You are still waking up atleast 3-4 times a night. You still sleep in mommy and daddy's bed but we are going to work on that this week because you sir are a bed hog! LOL

health
You are a big boy! You are somewhere around 21 pounds and about 28-29 inches long. You wear 6-12 clothes and some 12 months. You are in a size 3 diaper but I may move you up soon because you seem to be peeing through your diaper alot. You have a little cold now. You have a semi- bad cough but an awfully runny nose. You act fine during the day but its nighttime that seems to be where the runny nose part bothers you. I'm so thankful you got the flu shot because alabama has the most reported flu cases. Praying you don't get it!

loves
You are such a happy baby and are very happy to please. There is not much that makes you mad, other than mommy not letting you get in the tree. You LOVE taking big boy baths because of all your bath toys and the washcloth. You could play in there forever. Cheerios are your favorite snack and your paci is your best friend. You got lots of new toys for Christmas and your wagon and the LOL Elmo are probably your favorite. You love to bang everything on the table and laugh and peek-a-boo is so funny to you. You say "hi" all the time and "mama" when you are upset. Also, you love your new big boy carseat :)

Overall, your the best baby ever! You make everyone smile that you see and everyone falls in love with your red hair and blue eyes. I never knew I could love someone as much as I love you. Me and you are always together and you make me the happiest mommy ever! I love you Konnor Bryant!

Halloween/Thanksgiving...

Im just now getting around to doing this post. Call me a bad blogger, I know it!

Konnor Bryant was the cutest little pirate I ever did see! Everyone loved his costume and Im so shocked that he wore the hat because he HATES stuff to be on his head but he never bothered it.
We decided to skip the trick or treating this year since he was so young and it was kinda chilly that night. We live in a big neighborhood so we stayed home and handed out candy. He loved it! Everytime someone would knock on the door and would start kicking his legs and squealing. He was the cutest! Overall, we had an amazing first Halloween! We even let him have one sucker. (i dont wanna hear any rude comments please)  it was a big day and he was such a good boy that day!

We had a busy Thanksgiving! We ate at Justin's parents house for lunch then my grandparents for supper. Konnor loved it because he got to play with all the big kids. He loves them because they pay him so much attention and he just adores them! We also gave him table food for the first time. He hates creamed corn but loves green beans and mashed potatoes.

Happy December :)

I have always loved Christmas but this year is extra fun :) I realize Konnor doesn't understand what's going on but it gives me an excuse to do all the cheesy things I've always wanted to do! We have started many Christmas traditions as a family this year which included getting our first real tree :) can't wait to share our Christmas fun with all you guys! I'm backed up on blog post but we don't have a computer so I just post when I can! But Merry Christmas from our family :)

6 months [a little late]

How in the world do I have a 6 1/2 month old?!?!?!? It has been an amazing 6 months and I have fallen so in love with this sweet baby boy that grew in my belly for 9 months. I never knew how possible it was to love him so much! There is never a day where I dont think God for my sweet little man! And besides those blue eyes and red hair are to die for! :)

He has turned into such a smart, sweet, giggly, handsome little man. My big boy now weighs 18 lbs 12oz and is 271/2 inches long. He is in some 6-9 month clothes, most 9 month clothes and even some 12 month! It really depends on where the outfit is from though. He wears a size 3 diaper and a size 3 shoe. He hates wearing shoes though because he cant stick his feet in his mouth lol.

He has learned so much here lately! He can say "mama" and "hi". He is so close to crawling. He will get up on all four and just rock back and forth but he can not figure out how to move his arms so he has resorted to rolling all over the place. He is such an active baby and once he gets the hang of crawling we will have our hands full! He learned how to reach for whoever he wants and will cry if you dont get him fast enough. He also has two teeth on the bottom now, which took a very long time to come through so we are very happy to have our happy baby back!

He is the biggest momma's boy, which melts my heart! If he knows I am around he better be touching me or he will freak out. He loves to be held by me and has to snuggle right up next to me at night. We love to sit in the floor and play with Sophie, his puppy that sings songs and the remote! His favorite thing is to do this little piggy. He laughs so much and is the biggest giggle box ever. He is ticklish everywhere and will laugh so hard that he loses his breath. Im serious guys, he is the best little boy ever!!!

Little Chubster loves to eat!! He eats a 6oz bottle every 3 hours. He eats a thing of baby food and baby mum mums in the morning. I will either feed him the Gerber yogurt or fruit baby food. He also gets baby food at night and baby mum mums again too. He eats a thing of veggies then or the meat mixtures. He is on the stage 2 gerber foods. We have recently started giving him some Gerber lil crunchies as a snack during the day because he loves to feed himself! He will eat everything in sight if possible thats why he is such a chubby boy, but chubby means healthy and arms muscles for mommy! :)

He is still going through the 4 month sleep regression apparently because he still doesnt sleep through the night. He goes to bed every night at 8pm and will wake up for a bottle at 1 am, 3am and 5am then wakes up for the day at 6:30 am. He takes one 30 min nap about two hours after he wakes up then 2 one hour naps throughout the day. He will eat about an hour before bed then he will get a bath, his jammies on then we will rock and read till he falls asleep.

At his 6 month appointment we found out that his hydrocele was gone but we did get some bad news in its place. His soft spot has closed alot sooner than it should which means his skull can not grow while his brain is still growing. Since his skull is not growing his brain has no room which has caused his skull to bulge out in the front and on the sides. You can see it in some of his pictures, it looks like a big knot on his forehead. This is called Sagittal Synostosis. We go back in a week to compare pictures from then to now. If they see that it is still closing then we will schedule an appointment to go see a pediatric neurosurgeon. I will go into more detail with this in another post. We just ask that you please keep our sweet baby in your prayers!

Overall, we have the biggest blessing in our lives! He seriously brought me closer to Justin, my mom and God. It is amazing how much a baby can change you, for the better of course. He is a smart little 6 month old who loves his mommy and daddy, Mickey Mouse, his jumper and kisses from cousin Kayden. We can not wait for all the fun Holiday activities to come with our handsome boy!

Down on the Farm...

We took Konnor on his first trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday. The pumpkin patch is called Down on the Farm and its about 5 minutes from our house, so I know lots of trips there are in our future in the coming years. They have a hayride to get pumpkins, a corn maze, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, horse rides, a huge playground and a corn pit for the kids to play in. We just done the hayride and pumpkin picking since Konnor is still litte but we all had a blast.
He loved that we let him sit up beside us on the hayride (dont worry we both had a hold of him so he couldnt fall over). The hayride was about 10 minutes long and he laughed the whole time! He is such an outdoorsy baby!
Of course, the moment I sat him down he went straight for the hay. That child loves to put everything in his mouth and even though I would tell him it was icky he would laugh and do it again. I couldnt help but laugh along with him of course. Yall im serious, I have the silliest baby ever!
Mommy, I got my pumpkin lets go! The whole setup for this to take pictures was beautiful but Konnor is so tiny compared to it you couldnt see him so I had to zoom in. I cant wait to go back next year because he will have so much fun because he will be able to play on the playground. He was watching the bigger kids play and would squeal. I can tell he really wanted to play with them!
We had a blast there and I'm so glad we got to take him. We cant wait for all the other fun fall things soon to come!

5 months old!

My sweet little man is now 5 months old! I cant believe it, he's suppose to be my wittle baby still! We have had a big month and learned lots of new things!

Look who is now sitting up all by himself now! I am such a happy and proud mommy! I did cry the whole day when he started sitting up by himself though! He is suppose to need his momma for everything but yet he is becoming so independent and loves to lay in the floor on a palet and play with his toys. He used to love to sleep on my chest at night but now he wants to be a big boy and lay beside me. He also learned how to roll over from his back to his belly and his belly to his back. He loves making noises with his mouth, which is his newest discovery and he does it all the time now! We also have two teeth trying to break the gums on the bottom now!

He eats 4-5 oz of Simliac Sensitive every 2 hours and has one thing of baby food at night for supper followed by 2 oz of formula to go with that. His favorite food is bananas and squash! Since we hit the teething stage he no longer sleeps through the night. He wakes up every 3 hours at night for a bottle. However, recently we stopped letting him drink a bottle to make himself go to sleep. We have developed a new schedule to better fit us and we love it!

6:30 am- wakes up for the day and has a 5 oz bottle. We then play and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse until 7:45 am when I drop him off at my mom's house while I go to work.
9:00am- he goes down for an hour nap.
10:00am- he wakes up and plays with his cousin kayden.
1:30pm- I pick him up from my mom's and we both take an hour nap.
Once we wake up we either go to the park and play or go for a walk. We will then come home and wait on his daddy. Then he all just play together in the floor.
4:00pm- he goes down for another hour nap while I clean up the house.
5:00pm- we go outside and let him jump in his jumper for awhile before coming in and letting him have some supper. He eats at the same time we do so that he will become used to eating as a family.
7:00pm- he gets a bath, loitioned up, his jammies on then we will read him some bedtime stories.
7:30pm- he gets his last bottle fed by his daddy while I get a shower.
8:00pm- me and him will lay in bed with dimmed lights and I put the tv on the lullaby channel. Normally, by 8:30 he is asleep for the night.

This past month he has been to his Uncle TyTy's football games, a trip to the fair, birthday parties, 2 weddings, and to the mall. He is such a happy, giggly, silly little boy. He loves to smile at every girl he sees, his jumper is his best friend. I couldn't have asked for a better little boy. He is def the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. He has taught me what its like to truly love someone with your whole heart. We have learned so many new things and went on so many new adventures this past month. I can not wait to see what this month has in store for us.

Too much evil...

I'm just going to warn you, this is not a happy post, it's far from it. If you're in a good mood, I would not read this post.

We live in a small Alabama town where nothing but nothing happens. We eve at everyone we pass, we have small town functions where everyone joins together for a fun time. A town where football rules our town and no evil ever happens. Recently, the evil has found my small country town. Within the past month, our town has had 3 robberies and 2 shootings, all in which the shooters are still on the loose.

Where has this come from? I thought I picked a safe town for my son to grow up in. I thought I picked a town where my son would know no evil. Apparently I was wrong. I know there is evil all over but it just don't happen in our town. I cry many nights that I have brought Konnor into such a cruel and evil world but I know that only God will make this all better. I fully believe that God is watching over my son and he is protecting my sweet baby. I ask that every mother pray over your sweet baby everyday. That every mother explains to their child that there will be evil all around us, no matter where we live but that God's love overcomes everything. I just hope and pray that' my town gets back to normal but most of all that our town finds god again.

Hydrocele...

I forgot that I never posted how Konnor's appointment with his surgeon went.

As of right now, it's still just a hydrocele and not a hernia like we was worried about. Since its not a hernia that only means no surgery for now. We go back in the end of October for another check-up. If the hydrocele does not go away by the time Konnor turns one, he will have surgery. His surgeon could not give us a definite answer about whether or not he thought it would go away on its own. His hydrocele is in a very odd place which makes it harder to pass. Fingers crossed for no surgery for my baby boy! It's supposedly a very easy and simple surgery but still that's my baby and I do not feel comfortable with putting him to sleep or with him having stitches in such a sensitive place bu as a mother I want my child to be better and I know God is watching over him.

In case you're wondering, a hydrocele is a water build-up in his little boy parts. It's nothing we could have prevented and it does not hurt him one bit. They said he got it when I was pregnant and I was not big enough so certain parts of his body got neglected. When a little boy's testes drops something shuts off so no water is allowed in, well konnor's never shut off. We noticed it at his 2 week check up. But like I said Konnor is not in pain, he does not even notice its there. He doesn't cry or anything during diaper changes or baths when you clean him so that's why they will wait till he is one if it's still there.

We just ask that everyone please pray for our sweet baby boy!

4 Months Old!!!

4 months ago I became a mommy to God's greatest blessing! Im still so humbled at why I was chosen to be his mother. I became a mother earlier than planned but God knew that I needed Konnor and I wouldn't change it for anything. Becoming his mother has been the best thing to ever happen to me!!!! :)

  • We went to your 4 month well visit yesterday and you weigh 15 lbs 7 oz and you are 25 1/2 inches long! You are becoming such a big big boy!!! You also have the chubbiest thighs ever!!! You go Friday for a surgery consulation though due to a hydrocele that may have turned into a hernia. We will know more that day but you will be okay because God has his arms wrapped our baby!

  • You are still in a size 2 diaper but moved up to 6-9 month clothes today! We had to go on a shopping spree yesterday because I didnt think you would move up that fast in clothes so I only had long sleeve shirts for you and it has been so hot here so you needed some short sleeve outfits. Any excuse to go shopping for baby boy ;)

  • You are an eater! You love love love to eat! We started baby food recently and you have discovered how much you love it! Carrots and sweet potatoes is your favorite and you HATE green beans. you would gag yourself just so you wouldnt have to eat them but you would eat the whole thing of carrots!

  • You love your jumper and could play in it for hours! It lights up and plays all sorts of music that just makes you jump even more because you get so excited! Your bumbo is still your favorite though and I think you'd be in heaven if you could stay in it all day.

  • You are accomplishing so much! You can almost sit up by yourself, you can roll over from your back to your side, you will scoot all over the place just to see what cousin Kayden is up to, you have almost mastered holding your own bottle and sometimes you sleep thru the night, which is greatly appreciated! The doctor says you are a very smart baby and so alert. You are also a talker and an attention seeker. Every night when we have our cuddle time you will coo to me for a good 30 minutes, which I think is you telling me how your day has been. You will either fake cough or yell to get our attention then giggle once we look at you!

You are just the light of my life and my reason for living. I love waking up every morning to your beautiful grin and it gives me motivation to get through the day while I am at work. You never cry unless you are hungry, you are always laughing or smiling and you are such a big boy in everything you do! You have made your mommy and daddy the happiest parents ever! I Love You "Nonnor Bear"!

Couponing- Baby Style

Since I have went back to work but work less which means I make less, we have to make our money last and it's no secret that baby stuff aint cheap but all mommas have an obsession with buying all the cute baby stuff, well atleast I do. I decided to take up couponing. I thought I should share some of my secrets to making our money last.

  • Sign up for every baby coupon possible!!!! I get coupons from Pampers, Luvs, Similac, Johnsons & Johnsons, and Walgreens coupons for other baby items as well.

  • Similac mails me a $5 formula check once a month, plus sometimes their cans include coupons for $3 off. Right there is $8 off. If Walgreens has their formula on sale, I also use their coupon for formula of $2. That is $10 off a can, if you buy the big can its like getting a can for FREE! Hooray for free baby formula! :)

  • Pampers sends me coupons once a month (and my mom to hehe). They normally include two $4 off coupons, one $3 off coupon, one FREE thing of wipes and $1 off of wipes. Shop around to who has their diapers for cheaper and use your coupons for that to double your savings. A Foodland in front of my house sells their diapers for real cheap, so I normally come out on paying $5-$10 for a thing of diapers depending on how many I buy. You cant beat that for something baby HAS to have!

  • When it comes to buying clothes I will only buy when they are on sale or clearance. I also sign up for coupons to Belks, Childrens Place, and Babies R Us. We went to Childrens Place during our tax free weekend and only bought stuff on sale. I paid $30 for 8 outfits for little man! Belks always has their Jumping Bean line on sale, and I just love those outfits! Stock up when you can and buy ahead!!!!

  • I also buy from a Buy Sale & Trade page on Facebook for certain toys and some clothes. I only buy like new items because I dont mind buying used items and people always sell them cheap!

  • Also check out wholesaleprincess.com for the best mud pie outfits and hairbows! They do sale boy clothes just not as much as girls. I bought Konnor's Christmas outfit for $25 on there and him some football leggings for $3. They also ship real quick!!!!

These are just certain things I have seen that help us save money. If you have any advice to help me, please leave me a comment and let me know!!!

random update about our life!!!

This is going to be a jumbled up mess of all things new (or old that I have forgot to mention) that is going on in our lives now.

  • This is something I have avoided talking about because I got such horribly mean and rude feedback about it on my Facebook. I started back to work at Kmart when Konnor turned 6 weeks old. I got moved from Service Desk to Pricing. I stay in the back now because I told them I could not handle being on the floor and seeing all these babies, it just made work that much worse. I only work Monday- Friday and every other week I'm off on Wednesdays. I work 8-1 so that puts me working 20-25 hours a week. Going back to work was something I dreaded so much and I cried the whole week before and my first whole week back. I went home early everyday my first week as well. It gets easier but some days are alot harder than others. I am very lucky that my mom was able to quit her job and she now stays home and keeps Konnor for me. I am so grateful that I have someone I trust that keeps him and that I dont have to worry about him catching any germs from babies at a daycare. I am also very lucky that Justin picked up more hours at his work so that I didnt have to work as much. My job now is just to pay our small bills and to spoil our sweet baby boy!!! :)

  • I also am going to be an aunt again!!!!! My sister is having a little girl named Kennedy Ryan. She is due Jan.12. We are all so excited that its a little girl and my mom and I have already went crazy buying outfits and bows for her. As much as I love having a boy, (I prayed and prayed for a boy so hard for me! Prayers answered!), it's so fun to find cute little girl outfits!!!! Cant wait for Konnor to be a big cousin!
Kayden finding out he is going to have a little sister!!!!

  • I have a huge obsession with monagrammed clothes! Konnor has four things hanging in his room with his name on it and atleast 3 outfits in each size with his name on it. Thankfully, one of my best friends makes clothes and she always makes us the cutest clothes! She made his beach shirt with his name on it shown in the last post, she just finished his halloween shirt and is now working on his Thanksgiving shirt. Anytime she wants to try out new outfits for boys, we get to be the testers and we love it! She fulfills my obsession and I dont have to pay her a dime!

  • Football season is about to start for us, high school and college! ROLL TIDE! Konnor has tons of new Alabama outfits that his daddy picked out for him! Recently, my brother's football team just had Fan day that we attended and Konnor loved having all the boys talking to him and playing with him!

  •  You can follow me on twitter for daily updates and pictures of my little man! Its konnorsmommy12   hope to see some new blog followers on there! :)

Konnor's First Beach Trip :)

Two weeks ago, we went on our first vacation as a family to Panama City Beach! We had so much fun and Konnor loved the beach! he loves being outside so we knew this would be perfect for him! It rained pretty much our whole trip there so I was a little upset but Konnor enjoyed just being out on the balcony and going shopping so I was perfectly happy too!

Justin went deep sea fishing with my dad and little brother and he was in heaven! So me, my mom and Konnor got to spend some alone time together and it was so much fun! I love all the alone time i can get with my sweet little man! Please enjoy pictures of our trip :)
